After an intensive and progressive meeting at Rand water central Depot in Eikenhof (JHB South), Lesedi team together with Randwater technicians worked at the Selcourt reservoirs to under go a contingency plan that can be implemented to restore full water pressure supply for Lesedi as Rand water is trying to fill up Selcourt reservoir to the required level to sustain the pressure required by Lesedi Municipality. The team finished around 19:30 Monday, 13 March 2023.
The Municipality can confirm that the pressure is starting to pick up and reservoir levels in Heidelberg are improving. This mornings' pressure readings are currently at 400kPa. Some areas are now receiving water. The current intake pressure might drop depending on the increase demand on the current system. The Municipality is still in the process of trying to balanceand stabilize its water distribution system.
The Municipality would like to thank all communities, businesses, Media houses for their continued patience and support while the municipality is still dealing with the situation.
The Municipality continues to urge the communities receiving water to constantly use water sparingly and report any water leakages to our Customer Care Centre.
The community will be notified if there are any challenges on the system
